The TPS62095 device is a high frequency synchronous step down converter optimized for small solution size, high efficiency and suitable for battery powered applications. To maximize efficiency, the converter operates in PWM mode with a nominal switching frequency of 1.4MHz and automatically enters Power Save Mode operation at light load currents. When used in distributed power supplies and point of load regulation, the device allows voltage tracking to other voltage rails and tolerates output capacitors up to 150μF and beyond. Using the DCS-Control topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and accurate output voltage regulation.

The output voltage startup ramp is controlled by the soft startup pin, which allows operation as either a standalone power supply or in tracking configurations. Power sequencing is also possible by configuring the EN and PG pins. In Power Save Mode, the device operates with typically 20μA quiescent current. Power Save Mode is entered automatically and seamlessly maintaining high efficiency over the entire load current range.

Texas Instruments TPS6209x/TPS62090-Q1 high-frequency step down converters are optimized for small solution size and high efficiency and are suitable for battery powered applications. These converters maximize efficiency by operating in PWM mode with a nominal switching frequency of 2.8MHz / 1.4MHz. TI TPS6209x/TPS62090-Q1 step down converters automatically enter Power Save Mode operation at light load currents. When used in distributed power supplies and point of load regulation, these devices allow voltage tracking to other voltage rails and tolerate output capacitors ranging from 10µF up to 150µF and beyond. TPS62090EVM-063 is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating TPS62090 step-down converter. TPS62090 operates with an input voltage between 2.5V and 6V and an output voltage of 1.8V using external resistors. TPS62090 can deliver up to 3000mA of continuous current.
