The LTC3880/LTC3880-1 are dual, PolyPhase DC/DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers with an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. The controllers use a constant frequency, current mode architecture that is supported by LTpowerPlay™ software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI). Switching frequency, output voltage, and device address canbeprogrammedusingexternal configurationresistors. Parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Voltage, current, internal/external temperature and fault status can be read back through the bus interface. The LTC3880 incorporates a 5V linear regulator while the LTC3880-1 uses anexternal 5V supply forminimumpower loss. See comparison to LTC3887 below. Digital Power System Management
Analog Devices Digital Power System Management (PSM) devices help designers simplify and accelerate power system characterization, optimization, and data mining during prototyping, deployment, and field operation. Using the PSM devices enable designers to add digital PMBus/SMBus/I2C-interface based control, telemetry, and black-box fault recording to analog DC-DC power converters. 
LTC388x Step-Down Controllers
Analog Devices Inc. LTC388x Step-Down Controllers are dual PolyPhase DC-DC synchronous step-down switching regulator controllers. The LTC388x devices have an I2C-based PMBus compliant serial interface. These controllers employ a constant-frequency, current-mode architecture, with high-voltage input and output capability. The devices also have a programmable loop compensation, and are supported by the LTpowerPlay™ software development tool with a graphical user interface (GUI).
