Exar's XR33202 is a high-performance RS-485/RS-422 (TIA-485/TIA-422) transceiver, designed to meet the increasing system requirements found in today's portable/handheld, process control, and industrial equipment environments. This wide-supply (3.0 V to 5.5 V) device operates at maximum data rate of 20 Mbps and features a 1.65 V to 5.5 V I/O logic supply, simplifying multi-voltage system interfacing requirements.
The XR33202 includes several inherent protection features, including hot-swap glitch protection, overload protection, and enhanced receiver fail-safe protection for open, shorted, or terminated, but idle, data lines.
The transceiver features the industry's lowest standby current of 3 μA (max), 0.05 μA (typ). The wide-operating voltage range, flexible-logic interface, and low standby current make the XR33202 well suited for battery powered and multi-voltage systems. The XR33202 exceeds the highest ESD rating of IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4 and operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
