XP Power’s IMM01 (1 W) and IMM02 (2 W) series of DC/DC converters are designed for use in medical applications. Providing a 1500 V_AC input/output isolation at a 250 V_AC working voltage to facilitate a 1 x MOPP, the single- and dual-output units are approved to the international medical safety standards ANSI/AMII ES60601-1, CSA 22.2 No 60601-1, and EN/IEC60601-1.

The IMM01 and IMM02 are available with a choice of two 2:1 input voltage ranges based around nominal 5 V_DC (4.5 V_DC to 9.0 V_DC) and 12 V_DC (9.0 V_DC to 18.0 V_DC) inputs. Single-output models provide the popular nominal outputs of +3.3, +5, +12, or +15 V_DC. Duals provide the combinations of ±3.3, ±5, ±12, or ±15 V_DC.

Packaged in industry standard SIP-7 or SIP-8 formats, the units occupy very little PCB space. The IMM01 uses a SIP7 footprint and measures 19.50 mm x 10.60 mm x 9.20 mm. The SIP8, 2 W IMM02 is 21.85 mm x 10.60 mm x 9.20 mm. Capable of operating in most environments over the extended operating temperature range of -20°C to 100°C, the convection-cooled units can deliver full power up to 60°C.

A remote on/off input pin allows external control of the converter operation from a host application, such as to sequence startup.
