The 3M 100 G QSFP28 direct attach copper cable assemblies, 9Q series are passive copper cable assemblies which utilize 3M twin axial cable technology to create a highly-flexible, foldable, high-performance solution with bandwidths up to 100 Gbps to connect servers, switches, storage, and other high-speed equipment.

The unique 3M core cable technology allows 3M cable assemblies to be low profile and lightweight while virtually eliminating high-frequency resonance, allowing the cable to fold and bend with minimal to no impact on performance. The cable’s very small bend radius and low profile enables efficient routing in tight spaces. The flat, thin profile allows cables to be stacked to create tighter cable bundles, helping to minimize obstructions to airflow.

3M passive copper cable assemblies for QSFP28 applications are cost-effective I/O solutions offering excellent routability, low power, and low latency. 3M QSFP28 cable assemblies (9Q series) deliver data bandwidth up to 100 Gbps (4 Gbps x 25 Gbps per channel) for lengths up to 2 meters with 30 AWG and from 2 meters to 4 meters with 26 AWG. These assemblies are designed to meet industry standard protocols defined IEEE 802.3bj, SFF-8665, and 100 G Ethernet. Additionally, these assemblies have been tested at the Open Networking Systems Interoperability PlugFest (UNH-IOL).

3M QSFP28 cable assemblies (9Q series) feature a foldable, flexible, thin cable that allows for tight bends at the connector and stacking of cables for smaller bundles.
